Happy 2009 ... a little late.

One of my new year’s resolutions was to blog more. So, 14 days into the new year, is as good a time to start as any.

Rehearsals are well under way for Man of La Mancha and all seems to be coming together quite nicely. We open 1/30 and we had our first pseudo run thru the other night. It was great to get a feel for the entire show and put all the pieces together. NOW we are fortunate to have time to go back and add seasoning to everything. We began last night by cleaning up the show and before we knew it, it was 10pm and we were only 15 minutes into the show. Often you rehearse and before you know it your well into tech and you had one or 2 run-thru’s if you are lucky.

The worst thing has been getting to and from rehearsals with this extremely vocal winter we’ve had this year. It seems like before our holiday break, I was driving in near blizzard conditions each and every night.

2 nights ago we were running the blocking for the abduction scene and I fell as I’m supposed to, after being bushed away by our ubur talented Aldonza. I got up and went about my biz on stage. Got home that night and noticed my pants were full of blood. I suffered skinned knee and it had a party in my jeans unbeknownsed to me.

When I’m not at rehearsal lately, you can either find me at work or prepping for upcoming auditions. Tis the season. Lots of good projects casting up right now. So it’s with fingers crossed, that I close this, my first blog of ’09.

Ps – Go see MILK and BENJAMIN BUTTONS. Good stuff!

STAY WARM!
